Stephen Salloway, MD

Dr. Stephen Salloway is an internationally recognized leader in clinical trials for the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. He received his MD from Stanford Medical School and completed residencies in neurology and psychiatry at Yale University. He is the founding Director of the Memory and Aging Program at Butler Hospital, Associate Director of the Brown Center for Alzheimer’s Disease Research, and Professor of Neurology and Psychiatry at the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He has been a lead author for key publications in Alzheimer’s biomarker and treatment research in the New England Journal of Medicine, Nature, and other top-tiered journals that have helped shaped the field of Alzheimer’s research. He is an expert on amyloid-related imaging abnormalities and its management and is a member of the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Therapeutic Work Group developing appropriate use recommendations to safely guide the clinical use of new disease-modifying treatments. He has published over 400 scientific articles and abstracts and edited 3 books and lectures widely about the early diagnosis and prevention of Alzheimer’s disease.

Brittany Dawson, MS, FNP

Brittany Dawson is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. She received her BS in Nursing from the University of Virginia in 2010. She worked as a maternity nurse at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital from 2010-2015, while she worked towards her MS, FNP degree. She received her MS, FNP from Georgetown University in 2015. Since joining the Memory and Aging Program in September of 2016, Brittany has worked in both our clinical and research programs. She is a member of the Memory and Aging Program’s Executive Management team as the Director of Clinical Operations.
Priscilla Villa
Site Liaison
Priscilla received her BA in Psychology with a minor in Biology and Neuroscience at Salve Regina University in 2013. She completed her MS in Interdisciplinary Neuroscience at the University of Rhode Island where she studied the effects of traumatic brain injury on motor control. Priscilla coordinates the ADNI4 and LEADS study while also assisting with the management and start up of multiple clinical trials.

Sophia Tarro

Sophia Tarro is the Project Coordinator for AHEAD and APEX at the Memory and Aging Program at Butler Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. She has more than 5 years of professional experience coordinating and assisting on investigational drug trials and observational trials for pre-clinical Alzheimer’s disease. Her professional experience combined with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from College of the Holy Cross in 2020 have allowed for development of strong analytical skills, ability to create frameworks to apply to problems and solid leadership and communication skills
