Rajeet Shrestha, MD

Dr. Rajeet Shrestha completed his general psychiatry residency at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio and Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry fellowship at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. He specializes in neuropsychiatric disorders as well as the diagnosis and management of dementia and associated disorders. Dr. Shrestha has extensive experience in managing cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. He conducts clinical research studies focusing on longitudinal observation of people with cognitive concerns and clinical trials for prevention and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.

Brian Appleby, MD

Dr. Brian Appleby is a neuropsychiatrist who treats and researches neurocognitive disorders. His clinical and research interests include prion diseases (e.g., Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease), frontotemporal lobar degeneration, and Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Appleby received an M.D. from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed a psychiatry residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he also completed a geriatric psychiatry fellowship. Dr. Appleby is Professor of Neurology, Psychiatry, and Pathology at Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. He is director of the National Prion Disease Pathology Surveillance Center, Medical Director of the CJD Foundation, and is Director of the Cleveland Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center’s Clinical Core and Co-Director of the Neuropathology Core. Dr. Appleby is also Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Cleveland Chapter Alzheimer’s Association and a Co-PI for the Alzheimer’s Clinical Trial Consortium.

Paula Ogrocki, PhD

Paula Ogrocki is a neuropsychologist and Assistant Professor of Neurology at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship in Neuropsychology at Duke University Medical Center. She has 25+ years of experience in clinical and research settings with a focus on the multidisciplinary assessment of individuals with neurodegenerative disorders and those at risk. She has served as the team neuropsychologist in multiple collaborative multicenter clinical trials, longitudinal observational studies, and epidemiological studies aimed at preventing and treating Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. She embraces the vision of “a world without Alzheimer’s disease” and the guiding concept "If you've met one person with Alzheimer's disease you've met one person with Alzheimer's disease!”

Srishti Ahuja, MD, MS
Community Engagement Specialist
Srishti Ahuja is a physician by training with a master's degree in healthcare management from Case Western Reserve University and a background in research fellowship training. She currently serves as a Clinical Research Specialist II at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. In her role, she leads community engagement and outreach efforts to support inclusive, patient centered research. Her work focuses on strengthening connections between clinical research and community needs to advance equitable health outcomes.
